Egyptian Museum Reproductions #6
Product Description
Akhenaten ruled Egypt for 17 years (1367-1355 B.C.) together with his beautiful wife Queen Nefertiti. Akhenaten after the fifth year of his reign changed the state cult of Amun to that of Aten, the Unique God. He also assumed the name Akhenaten ("The Glory of the Aten"). This began two decades of religious reforms. Akhenaton erected a temple to the Sun God at Karnak. The Aten temple contained a peristyle court whose 28 pillars supported colossal statues of the king. Here, Akhenaton together with his wife Nefertiti and one of their daughters are seen worshipping the Aten.
